1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using heytwin ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password.

Username Policy

We reserve the right to manage usernames on the platform to ensure a safe and organized environment. We log username history for all accounts.

• Offensive Usernames: If a username is deemed offensive, hate speech, or otherwise inappropriate, we may forcefully change it to a temporary placeholder (e.g., user_1234) without prior notice. A notification and support email will be sent to the registered email address. While having an inappropriate name is grounds for immediate termination, accounts that are resolved via a staff-issued placeholder will generally remain active.
• Username Reclamation: If a recognized Business or Content Creator (CC) wishes to acquire a username currently held by another user, HeyTwin staff may, at our sole discretion, mediate a negotiation. If you hold such a username, we may contact you to offer an alternative username of your choice along with a special "Name Trader" badge in exchange for releasing the name. You are not obligated to accept, but we reserve the right to final adjudication in cases of trademark infringement.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

3. User Content & Conduct

Our Service allows you to post, link, store, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). You are responsible for the Content that you post to the Service, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.

You agree not to use the Service to upload or display content that is illegal, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to remove any content and ban any user found in violation of this policy.

4. Business & Commercial Accounts

If you are creating an account on behalf of a business, you are strictly required to navigate to /badges/verify immediately after account creation to begin the process to purchase a mandatory Business License.

• Small Business License: $25.00 AUD
• Big Business License: $100.00+ AUD (Price subject to evaluation of the business by the Owner).

Failure to obtain the appropriate license for a commercial account constitutes a breach of these Terms.

1. Premium Features

heytwin offers a "Premium" status which may be obtained through a one-time purchase or redemption code. Premium status grants access to specific features, including but not limited to Custom CSS capabilities and increased file upload limits.

2. Micro-Transactions (Badges)

We offer various Badges (e.g., Crowns) as one-time micro-transaction purchases. Once purchased, these items are permanently applied to your account and can be toggled on or off via your profile settings.

3. No Refunds Policy

We do not provide refunds for "change of mind" or if you decide you no longer want to use the Service. Furthermore, if your account is suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service (e.g., posting prohibited content), you will forfeit your Premium status and/or Badges and are not entitled to any refund.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Data: Username, email address, and hashed passwords.
• Usage Data: IP addresses, browser type, and operating system information.
• User Content: Files (images, audio, video) and text you upload to your profile.
• Third-Party Data: If you link your Discord account, we store your Discord ID, username, and avatar URL. See our Discord Policy for more details.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide and improve the Service, manage your account, and ensure security. Specifically:

• IP Addresses: We log IP addresses (`known_ips`) to detect suspicious login attempts and protect your account. New locations may trigger a verification email.
• Emails: Used for account verification, password resets, and critical service notifications. We may also contact you if your account is recognized as a Business or Content Creator (CC) regarding verification or licensing.
• Cookies: We use cookies to maintain your session (`heytwin_session`). By using the Service, you consent to the use of these cookies.

3. Data Security & Retention

We implement security measures designed to protect your data, including bcrypt hashing for passwords. We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. You may request the deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
